Dennis Duncan

Dennis Duncan is a passionate author and resident of Sanibel Island, whose work is deeply inspired by the local legend of Gasparilla the Pirate. Dennis’s fascination with swashbuckling tales began in 6th grade with Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic, “Treasure Island.” Originally from South Africa, he attended Jeppe High School for Boys and Damelin College in Johannesburg before moving to the United States.

Dennis’s love for pirate lore and historical intrigue has only grown over the years. He is currently working on his next book, drawing from the rich history of old Sanibel and Captiva Islands to weave compelling narratives that blend history and imagination. His stories capture the essence of the pirate legend and the unique charm of his island home.
